Schedule Time To Spend With Each Child

Take some time out for kids from your daily routine. Let’s say 30 mins or longer – it’s all up to us. Whereby they don’t feel that parents don’t have time for them. Assure them that you care about them and will always be there as pillars of support.

  • Try to spend time with them according to their choice because this is the stage where the child likes to spend more time with the same age groups rather than their parents.
  • Talk about something they like: sports, melodies, superstars, companions, ideal persons, etc.
  • Sit together and tell them about your sweet sixteen’s day.
  • Talk about the future. Identify your teen’s future goals and discuss what the world might be like 20, 30, or even 50 years down the road.

  • Always try to use positive words when you talk with your children when you tell them what to do; like “Please put your clothes away” (instead of “Don’t make a mess”).
  • Scolding up your child will simply make you and them more pressurized and angrier. Get your child’s attention by using their name. Speak in a calm voice.
  • Teens mostly like to spend time with their companions. Help your teen connect through social media and other safe distancing sources. This is something you can do together, as well!

3. Make A Workable But Compatible Daily Routine 

COVID-19 has totally disturbed our daily work, home, and school routines. This is hard for children, teenagers, and for you. But to work on new routines can help.

  • Make a flexible time-table for you and your children that will have time for pre-defined activities as well as leisure time. This can help children feel more secure and better behaved.
  • Children or teenagers can cover their extra courses in their relevant subjects. This can help to keep them updated with the advanced things so that they will not feel burdened.
  • Introduce some exercises in your daily routine – this helps with stress and kids with lots of energy at home.

  • If the situation is under control in your country then let the children go outside.
